Our Curriculum

I will do my best to plan out as far ahead as I'm able to, between the girls, housework, crocheting, and my job. I'll try to include links or descriptions for all our projects and activities. Feel free to follow along with us as we progress in teaching our girls, or use our info to design your own curriculum.

Redo...

I'm redoing everything... and starting over next week.

I'll also be planning one day a month (all i think i could handle at this moment) to have a fun day for other moms who want to do this too. If you're interested, let me know. I'll pick a few days and see when most people would be able to make it.

I'll let you know more later. :)

So so so busy... but prioritizing

Alright, so I've been a bit busy. I haven't neglected to find more stuff, and figure this thing out... I just haven't blogged about it, but at the moment, it's almost midnight... and i need some sleep. So please stick with me (so glad some people have taken an interest in this.) and I'll get a plan together.

Also, I was trying to figure out a way that we as Moms could get together to go over some things, trade ideas, maybe make some things together... So i thought maybe once a week, or every other week, once a month if that's all we can do, we'll get together for a "playdate". We'll let the kids run around, or make a big craft, and we can make materials (games/cards/etc) to use, and trade ideas and info and websites and just have fun.

If you're interested, let me know someway... facebook, blog, email, phone... whatever.

I'm also redoing alot of things in my life right now... so email and blog and such maybe changing soon. Be on the look out.

My First File Folder

This is for our focus on Opposites.  Hot and Cold will be our first ones.  I printed it out in "draft" mode and colored it in myself with colored pencils.  I used laminate paper to laminate it.  I also used chris's double sided tape from work (super bonding stuff) to attach the pockets and ziplock baggie on the back.

I'm trying to figure out why all my pictures aren't on here... I uploaded 4.  Hmmm... Is blogger messing up?

Anyways.  I'm super proud of my new file folder.  It only took me 2 1/2 hours to make - The ENTIRE Nap time.  Hopefully next one won't take so much time.

**You can find this file folder at http://www.filefolderfun.com/
Look under preschool science

Tip

To reuse worksheets, Put them in a page protector (or laminate or put contact paper on them) and then you can use washable crayons or dry erase markers on them.

A work in progress

So I started this whole thing last week.  Over the past week, I've looked at websites, I've read ideas, I've thought and thought about how to do this my own way.  I think I may have it down, or at least a place to start.

I know that over time, I'll realize what my girls and I can handle, what they can learn now, and what needs to wait.  We'll get into a routine that suits us, and all will be well with the world.

As we progress towards... whatever it is we're progress towards (kindergarten at this point, I guess... it's a ways off though) I'll be posting all sorts of hopefully helpful stuff on here for anyone else out there interested in teaching their little ones themselves.

So now I'm off, to work on my layout here and try to get ready for our first day tomorrow... Teaching Taylor and Maddie!
